Nooky — born Corey Webster — is one of Australia’s most celebrated Indigenous voices and one of Nowra’s own. A proud Yuin man from the Shoalhaven, he found hip-hop as a teenager and turned it into a career that has taken him from the streets of Nowra to Harvard, the Black Eyed Peas, and the national airwaves as host of Triple J’s Blak Out. In 2024, his supergroup 3% took home the ARIA for Best Hip-Hop/Rap Release.
In this conversation, Barron Hanson sits down with Nooky to talk about growing up in Nowra, what hip-hop gave him, and what it means to come home.
