GROW Mental Wellbeing Programs

GROW is a community-based organisation that has helped thousands of Australians with their recovery from mental ill-health through a unique program of mutual support and personal development. Established in 1957 in Hurstville as a grass roots mental health recovery movement, The Grow Program is based on a 12-step program of personal growth of mutual help and support. The program is all-inclusive and draws on many principles for mental, social and spiritual health, and grow groups are now established all over the world . GROW offers a range of programs for people looking for support with their mental health. Our programs are based on lived experience. This means our groups are a meeting of peers, who are striving to develop and maintain good mental health. This is known as peer-to-peer support. At each meeting, members, known as Growers, share how they came to GROW and how they’re exploring self-improvement as they work on their personal recovery. Recovery isn’t a straight road and that’s where the support of other Growers can help. Everyone in the group has opportunities to share their experiences of coping with mental ill-health adding to the growth of the program. What makes GROW special is the practical advice and the lived experiences that are shared each week by our members. The peer-to peer style of support has been proven to be a positive way of helping you remain on the road to recovery. GROW is free, confidential and no diagnosis or referral is necessary.  Meetings will be held in Nowra Mondays @ 9.45 am at the Grand Pacific Health HASI building 51 North Street NOWRA. Contact the main office or the NOWRA Group Organiser for details.
