Nowra.org.au is proudly supported by the NSW Government’s Uptown Grant Program—a strategic initiative designed to transform CBDs across regional NSW into thriving evening and cultural destinations.
The Uptown Grant Program provides seed funding to establish Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) in regional town centres. These districts bring together local businesses, property owners, and community organisations to coordinate activation, marketing, and economic development initiatives.
Nowra was chosen as one of the competitive Round 3 recipients based on:
Strong community support with 5+ founding member businesses
Clear vision for evening economy transformation
Innovative Art Walk program proposal
Demonstrated capacity to deliver and sustain the initiative
Strategic location serving the broader Shoalhaven region
We’re joining a network of innovative districts across NSW—from Byron Bay to Bathurst—that are pioneering new models for regional revitalisation. We share learnings, collaborate on best practices, and collectively demonstrate that regional Australia is open for business.
While the Uptown Grant provides crucial seed funding, our vision extends far beyond June 2026. We’re building sustainable revenue streams through memberships, sponsorships, events, and services that will keep Nowra.org thriving for years to come.
